EN 397 is the European performance standard for industrial safety helmets, widely specified in Kenyan procurement documents. It tests shock absorption (5kg striker from 1m), penetration (3kg cone), flame resistance and chin-strap release between 150–250N.

Optional marks matter: 440Vac (electrical), -20°C or -30°C (cold), LD (lateral deformation) and MM (molten metal). Match the option to the job — road crews rarely need electrical insulation; substation contractors do.

Always ask the supplier for the declaration of conformity and check the shell markings: manufacturer, EN 397, size range and date of manufacture. SafetyPro lists only the certifications held in our product database — never invented.
